The majority of what sold is the campground down to the creek bottom, and I'm pretty sure Killer goes too.

If you look at a map of the property lines, its really not that big of a loss... besides killer, it isn't really that big of a deal besides the fire roads leading in and out of oaktree.

Besides, a land company bought it. I highly doubt they're going to patrol and fence it all off immediately. I'm sure we'll be riding it for years to come!

What exactly do you mean by "work it over"?

You mean like not sell it, or start moving in equipment and start earth moving?

Dave told us 2 weeks ago that the state would be unloading and assembling some huge equipment at Oak Tree for the Rt. 7 project. It has nothing to do with Oak Tree property. I'm sure they will also cut an access road through the back of Oak Tree to get to Rt. 7.

We were down there this weekend. I took some pics of what use to be the Look out area. The whole area has been cleared, and they were working on Rt 7.
I will get the pics uploaded, and catch22Z or myself will post them later.

A few pics as of 9-16-2011 of the lookout trails along route 7.

Basically from the tracks over up to the top of the upper lookout area across from the horse track.
They were working all weekend and now have a road built from the entrance of Oaktree all the way down to the tracks, mild enough to drive a Ford Escort on.

lower look out to upper lookout..

    lower lookout to the tracks.

Looking from the very top of upper lookout back down to the tracks.

Then these pics are of the left side of upper lookout looking back up towards Oaktree. The dropped all the trees about 1000ft back from the cliff over route 7.

Yeah good to see you again. Sorry we didnt cruise with ya. I had quite a train to pull around there, and did not want to get anyone lost or in something shady.
I couldnt believe what the place looks like. Hopefully they just do that cliff project and roll out. If that is the case, then it will leave behind some new territory to explore for sure.
I was hoping for a late October (15th) maybe, trip again this year, it may or may not happen.
If, so it will prolly just be one day ride on a Saturday. No camping
I will hollar if that happens.
Maybe we could shoot up to your house afterward for a few beers? Let us know.

Wow, itís a Komatsu 425 Feller-Buncher all new CAT equipment that their using, has anyone been able to figure out what this project is all about yet?
The only thing that I know of is that ODOT District 11 is spending $5.6M plus of Ohioís Stimulus Moneys on Slid Control and Resurfacing for SR7 through that area, how far have they encroached into Oak Tree at this time?
Just asking some questions here now, has any work and/or equipment been located anywhere other then on the hillside above SR7?
Dave has had his CP number changed, and have you seen him around much lately?
What's Planck and JSW Global up to now?

HAH, This is all insane. Crazy stuff. This all looks strange. Kinda a lot just to rescale that hill side yah think?

I spotted tripod, beer in hand. Hahah.

I have no idea what plank has up there sleeve, but I sure am curious as hell to know.

I'm thinkin this is 100% odot .they will spend a LOT of money fixing these slides. If you look at the odot district 11 website ,there is a lot about it there.plank isn't doing anything yet.It may be years before they do.Don't get excited. If you guys are concerned about having a place to ride, you could join the Village &help out our cause......

Yeah I stated that when I posted the pics.
There is now a dirt/gravel road all the way from Oaktree front entrance down to the tracks at the route 7 bridge that you literally could drive front wheel drive car down.
    I wouldnt do it..But I am sure someone will..lmao
